The Commonwealth Games means an international sporting event involving countries belonging to the Commonwealth of Nations. The Commonwealth of Nations is an organization made up of former colonies or territories of the British Empire. There are countries that belong to the Commonwealth. As a result, these nations have the freedom to participate in the Commonwealth Games. Since the launch of the Commonwealth Games, the top performers have been Australia, England, Canada and New Zealand. Australia
Australia is the most successful team of all time at the Commonwealth of Games. Since 1930, the team has won medals 2,218. Specifically, Australia won the 852 gold medal, the 716 silver medal and the 650 bronze medal. Among all the Commonwealth Games events, Australia has six and won 14 times. During its participation in the Commonwealth Games, Australia was ranked among the top three nations except in the first event of 1930. England
England, for its part, has won 2,008 medals since the beginning of the Commonwealth Games in 1930. The country has won gold medals 669, silver medals 670 and bronze medals 669. The total number England has been involved in games. Its main sports have been hockey, swimming and shooting. The Commonwealth Games is the only event in which England participates alone.
Canada
Like Australia and England, Canada has participated in the Commonwealth of Games since 1930. During this period, the Canadian team won medals 1,473. Specifically, they won 469 gold medals, 476 silver medals and 528 bronze medals. The team played a total of 20 games, including basketball, swimming, rugby, badminton , cycling and shooting.
