An institute was made in 1969 to categories the world’s buildings in the ranking according to their height. This international non-profit organization Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) was founded in 1969 and announces the title of “The World’s Tallest Building” and sets the standards by which buildings are measured( we will discuss Top 10 tallest buildings). This ranking is given to the buildings according to the height of the buildings, floors on it and width too included. Currently, Burj Al Khalifa in Dubai is ranked as the highest building in the world. The ranking is given to these buildings according to given criteria issued by the organization:
height to a structural or architectural top; height to a floor of a highest occupied floor; height to top of the roof (removed as the category in November 2009);[5] and height to top of any part of the building
Burj Khalifa:
Burj Khalifa is located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is currently the largest building in the world. It was constructed in the year 2010. Its height in feet measured as 2,717 ft and in meters is 828 meters. It has 163 floors.Its construction started in the year 2005 and completed in 5 years. Shanghai Tower:
Shanghai Tower is the 2nd tallest building in the world by height. It is located in Shanghai, a capital of China.the construction of the building started in November 2008 and completed in the August 2013 but open to the public in June 2015. It has the world’s fastest elevators system. Its height is 2,073 feet and 632 meters in measures. It has total 128 floors, but most of the floors of the building are still closed. Abraj Al-Bait Clock Tower:
It is the 3rd largest building in the world. It is situated in Saudi Arabia, in its capital Mecca. The Abraj Al-Bait is a government-owned megamall complex of seven skyscraper hotels in Mecca. The central hotel tower, the Makkah Royal Clock Tower, A Fairmont Hotel, has the world’s largest clock face and is the third tallest building and fourth tallest freestanding structure in the world.it is 1971 feet long and 601 meters tall.it has 120 floors and it was completed in 2012. Ping An Finance Center:
It is the 4th largest building in the world and the 2nd largest building in China. It is also located in China, in the city of Shenzhen. The building was commissioned by Ping An Insurance and designed by the American architectural firm Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates. Its construction was started in November 2007 and completed in 2016. It is 1965 feet and 599 meters long. It has 116 floors.
Lotte World Tower:
Lotte world tower is the 5th largest building in the world. It is located in Seoul, South Korea. It is 1819 feet and 554.5 meters tall. Its construction was started in March 2011 and was completed in the year December 2015. It is currently the tallest building in OECD. (Top 10 tallest buildings)
One World Trade Centre:
One World Trade Centre is the 6th largest building in the world. This building is located in New York City, United States of America. It is 1776 feet high and approximately 541 meters tall. It has 104 floors. The construction of the building was started in April 2006, and it was completed in April 2012. Its outermost body is totally covered with steel. (Top 10 tallest buildings)
CTF Finance Centre:
This tall building comes on 7th number in the ranking of world’s tallest buildings. It is located in the city Guangzhou, China. It 111 floors and it is measured as 1739 feet and 530 meters. The Guangzhou CTF Finance Centre has a total of 111 above ground and five below ground floors and houses a shopping mall, offices, apartments, and a hotel. This building is 1614 feet high. Its length measured in meters as 492 meters. It also has 101 floors like Taipei Tower but it is less in length comparatively Taipei Tower.It is also located in Shanghai, China. The construction of the building was completed in the year 2008.
International Commerce Center:
The top 10th tallest building in the world is International Commerce Center. The building has 118 floors. It is 1588 feet and 484 meters tall. It located in Hong Kong China.
